Josh Howie

Comedian

Josh Howie

Josh is an ex-public schoolboy, raised as a Buddhist who then trained as a Rabbi before being kicked off the programme for being caught with a naked (non-Jewish) girl, so perhaps it was inevitable that he would go on to become a stand-up comedian.

Already a familiar face on the comedy circuit, Josh performs regularly in London at clubs such as Banana Cabaret, Comedy Store, Comedy Café, Bearcat, Red Rose and King's Head and around the UK for the likes of Off the Kerb, Mirth Control, Comedy Clubs Ltd, The Stand, Just the Tonic, Clockwork Comedy, Workafrolics and the Union of Jewish Students, proving himself to be a massive hit at comedy clubs, universities and private functions alike.

2003 saw Josh make his first trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he spent a month performing on a comedy bus to sell-out audiences. Josh proved to be such a hit he was asked back again in 2004.

2004 ended with Josh performing a series of gigs around Australia.

The rest of Josh's CV, full of PR, TV and music credits, reads like that of an accomplished media industry veteran. Not only has Josh worked as a roving reporter for THE STUDIO NEWS, as a writer/presenter on THE INDIE 500 (both previously on THE STUDIO on NTL), started his own PR firm when he was just 16, received critical acclaim for his writing and direction of a short film for CHANNEL 4, he has also had a number of senior roles at a variety of music video production companies. Most notably, at 24, he was the youngest person ever to be appointed as Head of Video in the London office of PARTISAN, working with the likes of Armand Van Helden, Fatboy Slim and Placebo. He has, of course, now reached his late 20s and realised it is time to settle down and get a proper job - as a stand-up comedian.
