This south Londoner is easily one of the best stand-ups on the circuit with a huge amount of material, much of it from his globe-trotting experiences, and all top-drawer stuff.
As a Television presenter for the BBC, Nick Wilty has interviewed many major stars, including Dennis Hopper, Tom Jones, Sandra Bullock, Robbie Williams, Lulu, Ivana Trump, Guy Pearce and Kylie Minogue to name but a few. In 2000 he fronted "The other side", a C4 documentary, also featuring Eddie Izzard, as the two comedians toured New Zealand. Other TV appearances include "The Comedy Store" and "Live at Jongleurs", both of which are shown worldwide.
Nick is known as the "Globetrotting Comedian" for good reason. He has performed on every continent except Antarctica (although he did a show in Tierra Del Fuego!), and has done shows in all major Festivals, including Edinburgh (6 times), Glastonbury (5 times), Auckland (twice), Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide, Montreal (Just For Laughs), Vancouver, Edmonton, San Francisco, New York, Amsterdam, Cape Town & Hong Kong.
Hecklers were left floundering in slack-jawed awe as Nick took the audience round the world with laugh after laugh, finishing up to deafening applause and screams for more. Nick has won several awards, including the PoloMint Comedy Award, voted by fellow comedians and club owners in England, and Best International Act in San Francisco.
'Just three adjectives to describe Wilty - brilliant, brilliant and brilliant.' - Chortle
