This outstanding comic first learnt to suck diesel in his home town of Dublin at the famous Comedy Cellar - the tough proving ground for many of today's established Irish comics. Turning Pro in 1995, Andrew was spotted by the producers of BBC's Sunday Show and signed up for series two as presenter alongside Donna McPhail and Katie Puckrick. In his role as roving reporter on the show Andrew enjoyed many pleasures and a few misfortunes including spending an evening as a male escort, reporting on The Miss World Contest from Sun City South Africa, bungee jumping in the French Alps and a night out with the lads in Newcastle.

As a stand up Andrew Maxwell has appeared in the sell out show 'Young Gifted and Green' at the Edinburgh Festival, a show that was so successful that it led to them taking the show to Australia for an outstanding five week run.

October '97 saw Andrew Maxwell fit in a national tour of Universities and Colleges into his already over-full schedule. Andrew is a very fine comedian who can keep an audience focused with accessible and unpretentious topical comedy which has a pinch of his unique laddishness.
